Backstory — The Hard Truth About Dormiveglia

The Five W’s and One H

Who

Jake is a self-admitted workaholic — someone who needs to see tangible results before he can rest. A professional chef and certified commercial kitchen manager with nearly twenty years of experience, he’s learned discipline, precision, and how to lead under pressure.

Raised within Catholic education, Jake’s skepticism started early — kindergarten, in fact.

He still remembers the day: a Carmelite nun, in black habit, lecturing on the nature of God. It was his first introduction to the “Creator” who famously created everything in perfect order and purpose.

Five-year-old Jake raised his hand.

“Sister, why would God need servants in Heaven? Does He make a mess in the kitchen when He's cooking?”

His classmates laughed, but Jake was being sincere.

“If all the angels came down here to guard people, maybe God needs someone up there to help clean. I know how to vacuum carpets. Is there much dirt and dust in Heaven?”

These early questions revealed two traits that never left Jake — curiosity, and a pronounced contrarian instinct.

What

Dormiveglia began with one uncomfortable truth: most of America’s deep problems can trace back to two intertwined causes. If we can fix, or begin to repair these, perhaps 65–80% of our other troubles start to heal. They are genuinely two sides of the same coin, and they prove the adage — garbage in, garbage out.

1. Education (K–12)

The lessons of youth (formative years) shape everything that follows. When schools neglect curiosity, reasoning, and evidence-based thinking, students grow into adults who accept lazy explanations and reject complexity.

It’s how we arrived at a point where a convicted felon, found guilty on 34 counts by a jury of his own choosing  — one who never paid his debt to society — can still be hailed as a national hero — while destroying the White House without asking permission, no bid contracts, secret funding to build a saddam-type palace. (Do we know if all the ballroom donors are American? -- Does it even matter at this point?)

When accountability disappears, truth becomes optional.

2. Electronic/Digital Broadcast Media

Most American adults get their news from television, radio, and other mass media at least sometimes, and many rely on these sources as a primary way of staying informed. That isn’t evil or foolish — it’s human. Comfort and convenience have always been powerful lures — Heaven is a place of infinite comfort.

But a constant feed of easy narratives dulls our ability to think critically. When the media’s goal becomes entertainment, ratings-profits rather than enlightenment, confusion spreads faster than truth.

"A juicy falsehood is more powerful than a boring truth."

Education and media reinforce each other in a loop — weak critical thinking taught early, is then amplified and rewarded by broadcast and digital platforms. Until that loop breaks, the fog can only thicken.

Where

Dormiveglia Is A United States Citizen Union

In recent years, the UN has increasingly focused on finding ways to restore frayed links between people and their governments by encouraging greater involvement of citizens in decision-making and policy discussions. A civil society organization (CSO) or non-governmental organization (NGO) is any non-profit, voluntary citizens’ group which is organized on a local, national or international level.

Against a backdrop of growing misinformation, political polarization, and a breakdown in trust between citizens and those who govern them, the UN is promoting the direct participation of citizens in decisions that affect them and their communities and rebuild trust in democracy.

The right of citizens to take part in democratic processes has been enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights for 75 years, but even in nations with established democracies, it can never be taken for granted.

Hillel Neuer warned the UN in 2007, global bodies often ignore victims — citizen unions like Dormiveglia step up where institutions fail.

When

43 Minutes Of Music

On October 15, 2024, a few thousand supporters filled the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center & Fairgrounds in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, for a town hall event hosted by South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.

Former President Trump stopped taking questions at the gathering. Refusing to engage with the citizen-voters he opted instead to sway to loud piped-in music.

Some astute lawyers suggested Trump was laying the groundwork for an insanity defense — as he was facing serious criminal charges in several jurisdictions. Cult specialists recognized this as a loyalty test — to probe boundaries of followers, diminish open resistance, and identify skeptics.

Whatever the truth behind the bizarre conduct, broadcast media had a frenzy of reactions.

Borrowing from President Trump’s showmanship, Dormiveglia will limit its County Chapter meetings to 43 minutes. This will foster smart time management and polite coverage of topics. Chapter meetings can take place in open air, at or near county sheriff's and city police parking lots. Private after-meetings are encouraged.

Members of Dormiveglia may retire to public parks or other gathering locations, to talk freely away from police scrutiny. This technique is in honor of Thomas Jefferson. He was adept at adjourning the House of Burgesses whenever the Red Coats entered chambers, armed and intimidating. Burgesses would later resume their meetings at personal residences, also at the famous drinkery, Raleigh Tavern.

Jake observes: "Our lawmakers aren't fiddling while Rome burns. They’re arguing over the score the orchestra should play as the ship sinks."

Why It Matters

We live in a kind of collective dormiveglia — that hazy state between sleep and wakefulness. We believe we’re alert and informed, yet much of what we “know” is secondhand or unexamined.

The first step toward waking is to face ourselves in the mirror and ask:

“What did I do — or fail to do — that helped create this situation? And how do I plan to fix it?”

Those are the questions Dormiveglia exists to ask.

How We Will Survive

Dormiveglia will return to basics — US Civics 101. We learn in grade school, the citizens are the owners of our country, with almost unlimited rights and privileges. We citizen/owners elect temporary managers who are limited in power and authority.
We citizen/owners have been lackadaisical in demanding more from our temporary elected managers/officials.

Here is the broad spectrum hard truth, the current reality in the United States:

• In 2020, 95% of incumbent U.S. House members who sought re-election won.
• Since 1964, House incumbent re-election rates have never dropped below 85% — and frequently exceed 90%

This tendency creates a permanent class of "political industrial workers", creating a grave Ivory Tower Syndrome.

Across G-20 nations, lawmakers write their own perks and hoard ivory tower benefits — gold-plated pensions and healthcare coverage — while poorly informed citizens scrape by. Dormiveglia aims to expose and end this divide.

This project wasn’t built in a think tank. It emerged from one determined Texan, armed with a twelve-year-old pawn-shop laptop, free software downloaded off the internet, and a willing AI collaborator.

Because the tools don’t matter — the ability to think for ourselves does.
